Intro to DSLR and Mirrorless Photography

The Introduction to DSLR and Mirrorless Photography course provides a foundational understanding of digital photography, specifically focusing on DSLR and mirrorless cameras. Whether you're a beginner or an enthusiast looking to enhance your skills, this course will help you move out of “auto” mode and take control over your camera by selecting the best possible settings for the type of subjects you enjoy photographing.  You’ll also learn more about your camera’s basic settings, how to determine which settings are best to use in a variety of situations, and how to improve your current shooting skills.  If you are struggling to ­­­­understand your digital camera or just wishing that you could take better photos, this is the class for you! In our studio portrait photography class, you will dive into essential lighting and posing techniques to create captivating and professional studio portraits. Here's a glimpse of what you'll learn:

Lighting Techniques:

1. Key Light: Master the primary light source that sets the mood and illuminates your subject.

2. Fill Light: Learn to balance shadows with supplementary lighting for a well-exposed portrait.

3. Backlighting: Add depth and separation by illuminating from behind the subject.

4. Hair and Rim Lighting: Enhance texture and create a dramatic outline for your subjects.

Posing Techniques:

1. Body Positioning: Understand how body angles affect composition and visual impact.

2. Expressions: Capture genuine emotions and guide your subjects to convey the right mood.

3. Hand and Arm Placement: Position hands and arms to complement the overall pose.
