Please work closely with your academic advisor to fulfill the requirements below and ensure your best chances of securing a seat.

Cardiac Sonography · Dental Hygiene · Diagnostic Medical Sonography · Magnetic Resonance Imaging · Physical Therapist Assistant · Radiologic Technology · Registered Nursing including LPN to RN · Vascular Sonography
The minimum requirements for the Selective Health Programs:
- Completed Owens Admissions application,
- Completed Request for Health Evaluation through the student Owens Ozone account,
- Official transcripts (including LPN and RN programs attended, if applicable) from high school, college or university attended.
- For LPN to RN Applicants only, a current, valid LPN license.
You may apply for a maximum of three programs. If more than three programs are chosen, only those chosen most recently will be considered.
You must contact all high schools and colleges previously attended and have them submit official transcripts by the deadline. All documentation must be sent directly to the Owens Community College Records Office via mail or email at transcripts@tif2005.com
If you have met the minimum requirements listed above by the deadline date and earn the highest number of points in the review process you will be offered a program seat.
Once the review is complete, you will be notified through your Owens student email of whether you have been offered an accepted seat, offered an alternate seat, or been denied. Holding a seat as an alternate is very valuable as many of you will be able to move into a program seat prior to the program start date.
Upon receipt of the emailed results, you will have seven days to accept/decline your seat(s), including any alternate seats, through the “Selective Health” card of your Ozone account.
You can only hold a seat as an accepted student in one program but can hold up to three alternate seats in alternate programs. Once you decline a seat or if you do not respond within seven days to accept your seat in Ozone, the seat will be lost and no longer available to you.
A minimum of 15 points must be earned to be considered for these programs. Meeting the minimum standards does not ensure admission to a selective health program.
Program Selection Criteria: You may earn points based upon the following two criteria. The points earned in each of the two sections will be totaled. Those with the higher point total will be contacted first to accept their seat until all program seats are filled.
Grade Point Average (GPA) – A maximum of 19 points may be earned in this section. Points are earned for a cumulative high school or college program GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 system. Program GPA will be calculated using grades from all completed General Education courses within the program of study. An applicant’s most recent grade will be used if a course has been taken more than once.
To be considered a college applicant, you must have completed 11 college credits from the General Education courses listed in the college catalog as program courses with one of them being BIO 211 or either MTH 133 or 213. If you do not meet the requirements to be evaluated as a college applicant, your high school GPA on file at Owens will be used.
